HEAVENLY
EXPERIENCE
Juhu now has its very own Resto-Bar, TIAN, offering Chinese,
Japanese, Korean, Indonesian and Malay chisines. Designed by
architect Bobby Mukherjee of BMA, the restaurant blends
urban contemporary design with oriental simplicity. With
nearly 7,000 sq.ft. of space Tian can accommodate upto 200
guests. And Kishor Luthria, president of Tian and son of the
company’s founder UB Luthria, the chairman and MD of Sea
Rock hotel has bigger plans for his five-storey Art Deco
building including a wine and cigar lounge and an open sky
lounge. The Japanese Teppanyaki which opens next week will
prove to be the real test for Tian (meaning heaven in
Chinese) as to whether the Resto-Bar will be a hit in the
city. …

Alex Renggli, who is narrating this fable, pauses to listen
to my question. Does Sushiyama reject Genji and fall in love

buddling Japanese scholar. Not for him to be distracted by
the sight of Kajol and Ajay Devgan, who are seated nearby.
His attention is on the goodies being laid out on the table.
The Tempura. The Miso soup. The Yakitori…

Heaven
can wait
Tian is the principle of heaven in Chinese religion and
means heaven. Well, it seemed so at the opening of Tian, the
five-storey art deco building serving authentic Pan-Asian
cuisine, last night. The terrific traffic jams meant that
people took a long time to reach heaven. Well, heaven can
wait. Kishor Luthria, president of Tian seemed a very happy
man but he had every reason to be. For the oriental paradise
was open. …
